Barient 28 Winch Needed

Anyone know of a Barient 28 winch for sale anywhere? Apparently a snap ring broke or whatever holds the shaft in the winch and when one of my crew went to pull out the winch handle the whole shaft came out and spuh-lash! DOH!! Fortunately I had my chartplotter on (I think) and can retrace my track with a big magnet assuming the shaft is magnetic and may be able to pick it up. Had I not been so shocked I'd have hit the MOB button but it was a WTF happened moment. I checked Bacons in Annapolis and Craigslist in the Annapoils and Eastern Shore area but may have to resort to a nationwide search. Thanks - Paul West

If you are looking for parts try this site http://www.arco-winches.com/products/spares They used to sell used winches but their web site doesn't list them anymore. BTW I wouldn't expect that any of the parts are magnetic. John B. I actually just bought two self-tailing winches so have a pair I don't need. I am not sure what size ones I'll be taking off quite as yet, I'll know at the end of September.

right now ebay has two Barient 28's and some good pics of them starting at $750 for the pair last time I looked. Try Minnie's in Newport Beach, they get random winches in there.
