One of the older boats in our marina had this problem a few years back. After much time searching and testing, with a per hour mechanic aboard, they finally replaced the fuel line from the tank to the filter. Problem solved. John, I have the same engine and pump and have bled it several times over the years when changing filters but have never had the kind of trouble that you seem to be having. You are right about how the tubes to the injectors take a long time to bleed I have had it run for 15 minutes and quit but once I bleed it a second time and get it running I am good to go. My guess is that you did all of the obvious stuff (lines, bleeding, filters). Might be time for a pro.
