Re: [Cal_Boats] Handrails (Paul)
Yeah Charlie we had a good frost this morning too. I'll definitely have
to start early in the morning and run a heater all day to help with the set
up. I'm using the fast hardener which helps too. I need to re-visit the
directions on the lowest temp it can be used in too.
Are you Frostbiting this season?

Frost on the pumpkin this morning, Paul. Hope you can get that epoxy to
set up. Maybe a heater inside the boat will set things up a little faster.
Cheers
Charlie

Subject: [Cal_Boats] Handrails (was pan measurements)
I would caution that the measurements for our boats can vary a little. A
"production" boat is not necessarily a "precision" boat
That's for sure. Hell, I've only seen a few Cal 39's with my same floor
plan!
BTW removed all my exterior handrails last week on those 65 deg days we
had and will need to replace a couple of them as I had to cut one off of the
last bolt as the head broke off and there was not enough below to grab onto
with anything. If I remember correctly I think I had 5 or 6 heads break
off. Good news is that there didn't appear to be any major leaks into the
deck. I reamed out all the wood that I could with a dremel tool and filled
all holes with epoxy. Am attempting to do this with all holes in the deck
before Christmas. Still have to do the dorades, the companionway cover and
4 mast base blocks.
Hoping for good weather till Christmas!!
