I'm getting to understand, it seems kind of misleading for these chandleries and antenna mfrs to sell us this as they know what they are selling us here in sf bay. I guess they sell more cable that way to get it up the mast. We were always able to reach the committee boat too. Actually, it seemed better before the 18 in. mast whip. Reminds me of a car I had that used a coat hanger for a while after somebody snapped off my antenna. Also, even car radio antennas have that optimum length of extension, not necessarily full length. I'm over my head now, I give up. Helen

Do you know that the brand and model number is of the 18 inch mast whip?
