what year is your 3-2? We dont have one backsplash on our 74 29, let alone any particle board. our counters run right to the wooden cabinet trimming. then, as far as glassed in copper, ours has copper wire, solid, the size of a ground wire in romex, connected to throughhulls, and it runs under interior cabinetry, like the settee. now I will look real hard for whatever else it's connected to. Helen ,,,Thanks Allen for your effort at giving us real information.

78 Cal 3-29 towards the end of production years. Other things that are noticeable are the same throttle cable and transmission cable were used as on the 34 probably as they are way way to long and come down the binnacle then run to the stern, then run back under the engine and then come forward over the engine to make them functional. These are originals for sure as Ive replaced the throttle cable in the winter and moved it off the pedestal as a temp repair. Other items are the use of pine or cedar "boards" to stabilize the backslash particle board over the sink and ice box. The rest is pretty good. The bonding wire has been covered extensively by glass mat and extrudes only where needed and attached to a metal component. So they took great effort to put this system in place in comparison to other issues. Hence its a source of perplexity that I still have not resolved. Drawing is here to see the 3-29 mods. Interestingly enough mine does not have the extending dish rack and garbage rack as indicated in the drawing. Its the first drawing showing the 2-39 option in the set found here: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=0B5RAU5vfTL5JODIzODEwNjAtODA3ZC00NGFjLTk2YzMtZjY1OTEyN2RkNzAz&hl=en /ch On Mon, Dec 27, 2010 at 11:00 PM, Helen Horn <he… [at] sbcglobal.net>wrote: > > > what year is your 3-2? there is the whole lofting of the 29, great! But, it looks just like my 74 29 (basic with tiller) in the galley and settee, etc. the face of my cabinets at the back of the countertop start right at the counter surface. I also can't see in the drawings a dishrack or extension, it looks like the stove cavity on the right and after the bulkhead on the left is the counter for the sink that comes in the better equipped 2 and 3-29s. where is it indicated that it could go? into the quarterberth? I will look at these on a different screen tomorrow, maybe mine's too small. Is the embedded copper under the "furniture" or in the bilge compartment?
