panoramas of my Cal 28

James2011-01-08 19:44
I was fooling around with my camera and Microsoft ICE (image composite editor) and put together some panoramas--of my Cal 28 of course! What I did was take overlapping pictures (overlapped around 50%) of a 360 degree view of inside my boat, and also on the wharf and dragged them into ICE, where it stitched together a 360 degree panorama. Then I ran it through an equirectangular to deep zoom converter and configured panosalado to play it inside a browser using Flash. It's not as easy as it sounds, but it's fun to "visit my boat" on the internet when the weather is lousy or I'm busy with work. It aids in my daydreaming skills! I posted them at http://www.theskeltons.org/panoramas/sailboat.html There are 2 panoramas. Select between the two using the selector in the bottom middle of the window, where it says "inside sailboat". If you click on the bottom right hand button, you can go full screen. You can zoom into the photo quite a bit by pressing the plus button, and pan around the photo with the arrow buttons. Wouldn't that be fun if we could make a panorama gallery of the inside of each Cal Sailboat? If anyone is interested in doing this, I can help out compile the images... --Jim

very cool and a sharp looking boat. It's interesting seeing the subtle differences from my cal28 hull 41 On Sun, Jan 9, 2011 at 8:35 AM, Chuck Lennox <le… [at] yahoo.com> wrote: > > > > > ------------------------------ > *From:* James <ji… [at] yahoo.com> > *To:* Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com > *Sent:* Sat, January 8, 2011 11:44:35 AM > *Subject:* [Cal_Boats] panoramas of my Cal 28 > > > > I was fooling around with my camera and Microsoft ICE (image composite > editor) and put together some panoramas--of my Cal 28 of course!
