Cal-29 & Rocna

Greets:
Rocna staff in BC have responded that the appropriate model for the
CAL-29 is the model 10 (22lbs) with 30lbs of chain. You can go as high
as the model 15 but with 30lbs of chain and no windlass that over
60lbs dead weight to hall. They feel comfortable with the model 10
which is rated for boats up too 11K lbs. The price is approx 350.

Just checked something. What precipitated this thread for me is that I
broke free and dragged in Cape May on the tidal change. Mostly mud.
She reset and all was fine. Not a nice experience at 0300, not that I
was sleeping much with the traffic buzzing off my starboard side and a
real idiot who anchored less the 50 ft off my stern at the time (in
the middle of the night, using all chain of course) Tight anchorage
that filled overnight approx 15 boats next to the USCG station. Depth
was 9 feet on a 5:1. He was practically sitting on me anchor.
So a quick check:
anchor model: Danforth clone at 25lbs came with the boat.
chain: 15 feet westmarine G40 at 2.69lbs/ft so thats over thirty lbs.
so I guess not in all cases Mike....:)
Best regards
