Drawer Pulls
Crouch, Dyer2011-03-21 20:50 UTC
Looked in the archives & could not find anything on "drawer pulls". Is
there any manufacturer out there who made replacements for the drawer
pulls installed on 1960s-1970s Cals? Damn things are plastic & mine are
old & brittle. Some are broken & I would like to replace all of them.
Anybody find a good replacement, or even a "match" for these?
Thanks in advance -

Hi, Dyer. Don't know if any original plastic pulls are around, but I found some teak ones that fit well. Have used them in a CAL 25 with good result.
http://www.buckwoodcraft.com/teak_molding.htm#Teak%20Bungs,%20Drawer%20Pulls%20&%20Face%20Plates
Item AFI 60135 -- 2-Pack Rectangular Drawer Pull.
Length: 3-1/4". Recess: 1/2"
$5.50
Hope This Helps
Cheers
Charlie

Hi,
I bought a bunch from Minneys about 20 years ago. I think I still have some
extras on Satori. I will look tomorrow and reply.
How many do you want?

I put new drawer faces on and a new cupboard drawer a couple of years
ago. These are an exact match for my Cal 25.

This web site drives me crazy. I can ALWAYS find a bunch of stuff I'd like to have. It's almost better than my wife's Victoria Secret catalogs.

Yeah, I know, Danny. I bought a bunch of extra stuff I was sure I'd find a good use for. Still working on it.
Glad to be spreading some vicarious happiness.
One word of caution. The corner teak pieces around counters and seats on the old CALs are 1" radius (at least on the 25). The parts they have on the site are 2" radius. Best measure before getting these. Anybody want some 2" radius corners? (I only learn by hard experience.)
Cheers

I love this site. Good find, Kevin. Last time I saw any of these was years ago at Thomas Hardware (near Bayview Yacht Club in Detroit). It is the Detroit Minnie's equivalent. There were a few in a drawer in a corner. I bought what they had.

can you measure recess size, length, width and depth and screw to screw on
center? I believe my cabinet supply place has buckets of them, they are
frequently used on set-up/knockdown displays for things like sunglasses, they
set them in at the bottom to lift and move the display cases. (where I got mine
after they knocked it down). Helen
