new ports
r good2010-04-20 00:54 UTC
so, since I cannot find any old ports to use for parts or to replace some of my existing aluminum Perko's, I am reduced to looking into getting new ports
Considering Bowmar G512-AB27
also considering Newfound Metal's Tri-Matrix. Would like to have their stainless or bronze, but son't think it will happen.
The deal maker/breaker here will be pricing (and comparative quality) of the port plus screen. The Tri-Matrix seem to be acompetative price, but then you must buy the screen for $26 each. Bumps the price a lot.
Looking for any and all comments pro or con about the above options or any other. Need to fith the existing cutouts, or a shace larger.

I still have four ports that I removed from Cal Gal - when I replaced with Lewmars. If you still want them I promise to send them to you.
I've been a bit distracted with some non boating crud.

Hi Timm.
if they are the same as mine, I would take them in a heartbeat, even the broken ones if you saved them. It would help us postpone an expense which doesn't really fit right now.
Old perko aluminum. cutout about 5 1/2" X 12 3/8"?

I've tried reaching you at your off list email address shown here but no response. When could you ship the old ports? that would determine where, since we are traveling in the boat.
