Re: [Cal_Boats] in line fuel squeeze bulb

I did the same thing and to my knowledge there is not one made specifically for diesel as there is no need to have different ones. I think Joe pointed out that it is not ABYC acceptable if that matters to you. It is definitely handy since I mostly raced my old boat and kept the fuel load light and was prone to running out of fuel.

I put a squeeze bulb in my diesel farymann and it has been a life saver. So far no leaks and no hardening. If its not approved someone should make an approved version. It makes the difference between getting your motor started or having a line full of air.

Wouldn't be PERKO, I suspect it was TEMPO, they are one of the top makers
of after market fuel system parts. PERKO is a top maker of NAVLIGHTS,
Thru-hulls, Deck fittings, and mostly metal parts. Sadly they make an
awful lot of "junk" stuff now, they produce a lot of fittings in Zamac
and Zinc, which might last a couple of years in Freshwater, but virtually
dissolve in saltwater. They make a lot of Bronze stuff, but at $$$ and
not always the good, old heavy-duty type fittings.

I noticed mine leaked when I got the boat. Replaced it the same month
from west. By the spring it was leaking air and or fuel from the fitting
ends. Bought another one and complained. Last week I received a recall
notice from West that these were all to be returned to the store for
replacement. The brand escapes me but I think they were Perko. Mine are
for gas -A-4 and in line with the tank to prime the pump filter. They
leaked air at nigh so the line to the filer was always dry. Nasty little
problem till I got it sorted.
