Chartplotter mounting bracket
Harleigh and/or Kathy Ewell2011-04-15 19:01 UTC
I just bought a Standard Horizon CP390i chartplotter that mounts to a
bracket that has a triangular-shape base that is supposed to mount to an
underlying surface using 3 bolts or screws. My steering station (Cal 31)
has a 1" stainless steel hoop, and I would like to mount the plotter at the
top of the hoop, like I have been doing with my GPS, which the plotter will
replace. I looked online for an adapter that would mount to the tubing and
provide a surface for attaching the plotter. I found one that looks like it
would to the job, but it has a couple of joints in it that I don't need.
Does anyone know of a good adapter for my purpose?

Harleigh,
I have the 180i with that kind of bracket. I made a simple starboard base with
a rail clamp to hold it. Allows me to move and adjust. And remove and store in
the boat when not in use.

Kirk,
Thanks. That's the best arrangement I've seen so far. Nice photos.
