Sorry to hear about your stick going for a swim; been there, done that, wore
the t-shirt.
For a used spar, I expect that there may still be a lot of salvage masts
available from the boats that got totaled in hurricanes in the past few
years. Good Old Boat Magazine has a list of consignment stores --

which could be a good place to start. You'll find a bunch in Florida.
Also, it is not that expensive (compared with the price of a new mast) to
ship a mast. It's been about 10 years since we shipped one, but it hundreds
of dollars, not thousands.
