Tim, did you accidently move the decimal point? Or is that why the East
Coast Racers were so quick to try to ban the CAL 40 from the Bermuda Race
back in the 1960s?
9.26 knots would be pretty good, 92.6 knots is...... WOW!!! HANG ON
TIGHT!!

PS: I have had SUNBIRD surfing along on a broad reach at 7.5 knots +. I
love a good breeze off the wind, board partly raised, just the right
sea........ NODROG used to take off in the same conditions.....but we
didn't have a knotmeter, so I don't know our speed and with a "fixed"
keel, drag would be more than a partly raised CB. (I have a handheld
speedtube on my DS II, only reads up to 7 knots +/-, then water just
shoots out the top of the tube!)

At about 22 knots the bow wave moved back exposing the entire bow and the leading edge of the keel... where the knot meter is. The free spinning log paddle wheel went to 92 plus knots... I actually freeze framed 99.1

OH you were JUST doing 22 knots. . . must not have been trimmed properly LOL. If I ever saw 22 kts on my Cal 39 my shoes would be squishy. . . and not from sea water ;-).
Reminds me of the Guy who filmed his knotmeter at 6.1 @ anchor. . . in the Bay of Fundy ;-).
