Steven2011-07-05 16:03
I was in Newport,Oregon this weekend and saw a 1974 Cal 29-2 for sale named "Skye". Does anyone have any knowledge regarding this model and perhaps this particular sailboat?
I own a 1966 Cal-28 and might put her up for sail if decide to buy this one.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Sorry Steve, I have no knowledge of "Skye". I do, however, have extensive
knowledge of a '77 Cal 2-29 named "Rebecca Shea" for sale in Bellingham, WA.

Steve,
A CAL29, is a cal29 as far as rig and hull, etc is concerned. I am concerned that you aren't exhibiting 3 foot itis. That would push you close to a Cal 31. A great boat, I have 2 friends who have one each. Cabin room is much larger on the 31, and they came diesel powered. But I love my 29, with it's A4. I don't know if I would change for 1 foot. I changed from a 22 to my 29, a big jump, and I have been satisfied.
Regards,
David Dobbs, CAL29 411

Hi Steve,
I love the Cal 2-29, it is the best boat I have owned. The only reason I am selling her is I don’t get to use her much. With my kids off at college, my wife and I seem to be involved in too many other things. We are both musicians and that seems to be taking over our lives now.
