I thought sent this email to Darr last night, but could not find it in my "sent mail" box so I am sending it to the group. I had an air conditioner in my 1989 Cal 28. I purchased the boat in Charleston, SC and ran it up the ICW to Conn. The AC unit was installed in the port lazarete and I could not get to the water heater to winterize it so I removed the AC. It worked fine all the up the ICW. It is for sale. It has been stored in cellar for the last 2 - 3 years. Installation could be done if you are skilled and have the time. I' not familiar with you boat, if it is just an extension of the 28 you would probably put the AC unit in the lazarete where mine was. I think the reason for putting it in the lazarete was to keep the noise as far away from v-berth as possible it did cause a problem with the ducting, it had to be run underneath the ice box in the chart table. The installer took out the icebox and probably damaged it and did not put it back in. Installing it under the v-berth would be an option, then I would sleep in the quarter-berth. The unit I have is Cruisair (Dometic) Prod # 205-311760, Model #SXF 16/2 RMT, 16k BTU. It is a reverse cycle unit, Heats as well as cools. I don't know the age but am guessing 4 to 6 years. If anyone interested in it get back to me. I'm sure we can come to some agreement. My Boat is for sale as well at: http://www.aboat4sail.com/cal28<http://www.aboat4sail.com/cal28> Bert Pesak 203-938-3448 bj… [at] gmail.com
