Mast Height
Frans2011-08-07 14:50
Does anyone know the mast height of a Cal 29 above the waterline? I've heard its 45 feet. Is this accurate?

Boat documentation question
Gr… [at] aol.com2011-08-07 21:48 UTC
Hello
I have aa quick question about documentation. We are buying(maybe) a
Cal28 and her documentation expired in March of 2011. We asked the
current owner to update it, and he seems to think it isn't important.
Is it a big process for us to update it once we buy her?
this is our first sailboat purchase so please bear with us:)

Alice,
The back of the documentation certificate has instructions how to transfer ownership, and the offical number. Ask for that and follow the instructions. Good luck. And welcome to the Cal World, although I think you should have bought a 29, but I'm biased in that regard. And hello to one of my favorite states, NH. "Live Free or Die" I plan to be back there this winter doing some XC. Got any local tips about good local XC?

Greetings,,
The height of the mast should be 41' above the DWL. For furtrher specs on the Cal 29, go to www.sailboatdata.com, put Cal in the boat name and the scroll until you see Cal 29. The information there will give you that information, along with other demensions as well. If you go towards the bottom of the page, you will see a title "rig demensions key, and click on the key and it will give you the key for the specs for your boat! Hope this helps you out!
Happy sailing!
