just imagine the new phrf's to be deciphered by judges...I wonder what would happen when heeling comes into play, could be ugly. There could be some forces there that could bring perpetual motion into play. Isn't this a lot like a jet drive? You'd have to have your steaming light on. Wonder how much of my tax money went for this one? Helen

I want a phrf allowance for using 50 year old sails. Anyone read sailing anarchy's post on RAMBLER losing her keel, (or at least the bulb)... Just Dumb Luck the conditions where favorable enough that everyone was picked up safe and sound.

Around here the PHRF committee is made up of sail makers. They insist that ratings be based on new sails. I wonder why? I mentioned in a post which disappeared in cyberspace. I smirked something about, good thing some smart alecky 16 year old gal wasn't skippering the boat, who couldn't figure out how to turn her boat around to sail back to port, and the possibility the boat was hit by a rug wave (one that pulls the carpet out from under your feet). Yuck yuck yuck. Happily, all crew cold, wet, but safe and sound. But then, this is just the Irish sea, not some inland lake in the mid-west. Whoodah thunk?
