Charlie, that is what I thought, I believe that the 2-27 has a longer cabin, the step up occuring forward of the mast, and without portholes facing forward. I believe they were all on the same hull, except the 3-27, which had a little more beam.
Thanks,
John,

The 27 hull is similar to the T2 hull or visa versa, but the 2-27 is completely different. The T-2 is more IOR style. Actually, all the hulls are different from each other. Said that being like, most all Lapworth hulls bear a family resemblance. You can see each design evolved into the following one.

After all is said and done, with regards to your favorite Cal design, which of Bill's children do you like the best?
I'm pretty happy with his first born, the one that the angel of death made off with.

I vote for the Cal 20, a boat with fine sailing manners, a perky look,
and simple, durable construction. Plus, I can claim to have the first
half of a Cal 40. She sails so sweetly and always makes me smile.

Timm , so you get the downwind, and you are soliciting people for the hard grind up the coast? I think I am beginning to understand.

Damn that is tempting, Timm, but I am in England next week on biz. I leave right after Annapolis Race Week this weekend. I guess you are 500 miles closer, tho.
