Randy,
I will crew on any boat that you are cook/provisioner for! Great story and what fun. But, as you are the Commodore of your club how did you manage to put that on hold and sail a long distance race? That's being really organized. Of course, when you're out there your members can't reach you; hmmm, now I see what my my mistake was.

That's what Vice Commodores are for. They run the club and while Commodores run board meetings., shake everyone's hands, go to all the meetings/parties and represent the club at other clubs functions.
So far this year, I only had to tell one guest where the spare rolls of toilet paper were.
Our clubs in SoCAL go all year long. We are dark for the Christmas/Hanukkah Holidays, then have a New Years party and were off to a new year.
Anyway, we had sailmail if something was really pressing.
