Paul, there are boats ahead in the video. Some people obviously cleared. The first guy to hit was dead down on the chute and sort of broached. A little lesson on controlling one’s boat in tight spots. I’m guessing, but I don’t think those guys were LOLing. It seems that many sailboat racers are not really seamen. Kind of reminds me of getting into the Kent Morr marina on Kent Island (a little local knowledge for those of you not Annapolis savvy). Some of the other videos that show after this one are worth a view. Some could easily scare away folks who are thinking about doing spinnakers for the first time. Sort of LOL. Paul, there are boats ahead in the video. Some people obviously cleared. Yeah, there will always be some that are better than others but you gotta wonder about what those guys were thinking that didn't appear to have a clue going into that chute. The first guy to hit was dead down on the chute and sort of broached. A little lesson on controlling one’s boat in tight spots. Tight spots are one thing but tight spots with rock bottoms under spin . . . again, WTF were they thinking? I’m guessing, but I don’t think those guys were LOLing. I'd say that is a good guess ;-) It seems that many sailboat racers are not really seamen. Another good guess . . . Kind of reminds me of getting into the Kent Morr marina on Kent Island (a little local knowledge for those of you not Annapolis savvy). I've not been there but back when there was a Chesapeake Bay weblist there was a weekly Kent Narrows horror story it seemed of how to get thru there. Some of the other videos that show after this one are worth a view. Some could easily scare away folks who are thinking about doing spinnakers for the first time. Sort of LOL. Oh cool, I'll have to take a look. Who knows I may be in one of them;-) Cheers Charlie From: Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com [mailto:Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of pw… [at] aol.com Sent: Saturday, December 03, 2011 8:34 PM To: Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com Subject: Re: [Cal_Boats] FW: [Beneteau Dealers Group] Crazy Scandinavians... Looks like a good place to ford the fiord? I guess that's a downside to those new high aspect ratio keels. Not a problem for my boat, tho. I draw 30" and the centerboard would kick up if it hit something solid, or cut through it.
