You're definitely in the right place, Bob. There are a lot of former and
current Cal 29 owners here. I fall into the "former owner" category; we more
or less rebuilt our 1969 Cal 29 from the keel to the masthead over the years
that we had it. It's a great boat; I call it the biggest 29 foot sailboat
that you can get. (There are some other 29-foot-long boats with sails that
may have more room below, but they don't sail nearly as well.)
Let us know what questions you have, but I'll share one piece of advice that
I learned early on. The boat sails much faster when standing up, so be
prepared to reef the main early if it starts to blow.
