Timm, I made a mindless mistake. I failed to measure the shroud location when I removed and glassed over the original location. I know you converted Freewind to a double spreader rig so I have some questions. 1: How did you come up with the location to re-install your shrouds? 2: Am I correct in assuming the main shroud the be in center-line with the mast? If so then that will be easy enough to tackle. 3: Do you have the athwart ships measurement for the shroud placement? My bottom spreader is 37" from the center of the mainsail track to the end of the spreader. What is yours? 4: Any other advice? Thank You in advance. Daniel, First response - from what I have here at the office. Your 9.2R is also double spreader rig? I failed to measure the shroud location when I removed and glassed over the original location. I know you converted Freewind to a double spreader rig so I have some questions. 1: How did you come up with the location to re-install your shrouds? We used the original locations for the spreader chain plates, having the spreaders built by Buzz Ballenger to make this happen. I would think that your boat too, would have the 9.2 stock location. (verses the 9.2R). 2: Am I correct in assuming the main shroud the be in center-line with the mast? If so then that will be easy enough to tackle. Yes, centering on the spreader tip grove(s) and the mast base for the lower and upper shrouds, we retained the lowers as well, opposing the baby stay (aft). 3: Do you have the athwart ships measurement for the shroud placement? My bottom spreader is 37" from the center of the mainsail track to the end of the spreader. What is yours? Unknown spreader length.... I'm not in the rigging science, but I suspect that the outers drop vertically off the spreader tip to the deck... and are very close to plumb. 4: Any other advice? As always, strong backing plate (we used a metal plate) to support the shroud eye, in the sandwich decking, and make sure you are happy with the condition of the eye. It's dark 30 here I'll see if I can come up with some measurements or other pictures. Thank You in advance. Thanks Timm. Yes I have a double spreader rig which came standard with the 9.2R. It also came standard with the baby stay and check stays. Cheers; Daniel Casey "AirTime" Cal 9.2R #75 Santa Barbara, Ca.
