Hi friends,
We are new to this group.have owned two Cals through the years (a Cal 40
when we lived in Sausalito and now a Cal 35 cruiser in Baja) and are looking
to sell the Cal 35. It is posted on Yacht World and also on Craig's List
Baja. We were wondering if this would be a good forum to let people know
about the sale of the boat. If there is a better way to get the word about
our boat being for sale would someone please let us know?
Many thanks and fair winds,
Doug and Ann Brown

dear browns You must put "sailboat" in your post on craigslist also "sail" "
boat"
this helps people find your post ...really nice boat she would fit nicely
between
our cal 29 and cal 36 but helen sez sell trawler can we can open a Cal museum
so do you want to trade for 1981 Chb 34 tri cabin on SF bay in liveaboard
slip... oh yeah needs work...the cal-boats is a great place to list your cal !!

Thanks Helen and Company very much for this info, we appreciate it. We did
have someone contact us from our posting on Craig's List Baja but I will go
back in and check to make sure it is listed with "sailboat" and "sail" and
"boat". Aside from Craig's List, do you think other people who access the
Cal_Boats Yahoo group saw our email or should we resend it with "Cal 35
Cruiser for sale" in the subject line?
Regards,
Ann and Doug

it is good to always include the words, sailboat, sail, cuuriser in you post
because people "search' looking for "key words' people do not read every ad on
craigslist
also your boat might be worth more $$$ in northern calif or San Deigo ..than in
pourto
escondido which is harder for people to easily to travel to look at your boat
plus if people need to have bank fin. or up grades or want to do the BAHA they
want a boat
not south of boarder..if you go to yacht world type in "mexico" there are
allways a lot
of other boats that have been "left" down south boats that are 75K and above
still seem to be selling but cheaper boats sales have stalled... we just sold
our cal 29
to a friend after a 6k discount AND we are taking payments ... but no more slip
rent!
it is a hard market out there but people will still & are buying liveaboard sail
boats
up and down the coast of calif. ...and reposting on cal_boating with links or
pics might help I have seen ads for years on yacht world( CAL 36 in san carlos
mexico 5 years)
also seen ads " will deducted travel expense " anyway you might list in sf bay
aera
and san deigo craigslist with pics to see what action you get ...it is easier to
buy a boat than sell one...hope you get the 2nd Happest Day ...edward good
selling skills
maybe list boat under house for rent on craigslist baja ??

Paul, thanks.
Did you ever take Cross Fire on Trans-pac or some other sailing expedition?u8i999999999999999999999imo [oops that was big cat walking on keyboard]. Sounds like she is set up for serious racing. Is she a tall rig? I notice there is another Cal 36 on the So Cal PHRF roster so listed with a 130 something second rating.

Just so you are aware, we lowered the price to $14.9k. Let me know if you are interested.
Thanks,
Paul

However, I understand the 36 is more the ticket for off shore racing. I have two friends, involved with 36s; one is the boat "Holiday" up for sail, the other was recently purchased by another up in the bay area, Helen Horn, who is getting to haul hers "Caltopia?" out for bottom paint. She is looking for a bow pulpit for it. I'm in the Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com site.
