leaking boat fear?
r good2012-02-18 17:25 UTC
Our T/2 has a deep bilge. In the spring, when we launch, the bilge pimp is able to drain the bilge water and antifreeze down to about 3/4' deep. As we sail and race it and leave it tied up in its slip, the deep bilge, which is well below the waterline, gradually becomes bone dry.
We MUST have a LEAK!
Water is leaking out of the boat while it is in the water!

Reggie,
I think if you drill the hole from the inside out, the water drains out the boat, if you drill the hole from the outside in, the water comes in? /s

I get it. The Lake water is really salty, and the fresh rain water inside the keel is being sucked out by osmosis. Is the lake below sea level, like the Dead Sea?
It could also be caused by a stationary time space quantum jumping quark warp caused by sea sick bosons hiding out from scientists from CERN atom smasher accelerator, or thirsty bison hiding out from Lakota ghost warriors.

PS. Maybe I should be sailing instead of posting?!
