Yeah, and then there are things like a "boat buck" a "boat week" and my
personal favorite that I can most heartily relate to . . . "boat math" where
10 projects - 1 project = 19 projects ;-)
I pulled my handrails off last spring and got them varnished and the holes
epoxied within 10 days and do you think I could find time to get them back
on? Actually I kinda like the look w/o them and my crew likes not having
them to trip over going from the cabin top to the deck. Oh well . . . .

Paul, looks like you are telling me several things:
1. Boat math is neither commutative nor associative
2. Boat bucks are exponential values.
3. Boat weeks are subject to extreme time dilation, possibly due to proximity to the black hole that is known as a "boat".
Now if we can just teach the kids this stuff. Or maybe not, because they will never get a boat if they know too much.
Cheers

You mean, a boat buck is not the same as one dollar? (in 1776?)

My sail cover sat on the dining room floor, waiting for me to get out
the sewing machine, from the time the boat was hauled in Sept. until
last weekend.
But the dinghy oars have been stripped and repainted.

Sans hand rails, was: Re: [Cal_Boats] Fwd: Learning Math & Science Through Sailing Regional Meeting...

Paul, Kuel.
Not having hand rails means you don't need no more to pay homage to that worn out adage "..and a hand for the boat" You'll now have both hands free. Just make sure the crew straps on a long, powerful gyroscopic, computerized cat's tail so what when the boat hits an unexpected wave and gyrates violently and unexpectedly, throwing them up in the air, they'll land on the deck on all fours.
