Terry, I replaced Out Patients tank with a plastic tank from Bass Pro shops. It is a 18 gallon tank vice 20 gallons. But the fill tube is not in the right spot. I had to plum it off to the side with two 90 degree elbows. There is a sending unit where the fill tube goes, next time I would remove that and go straight thru. I cleaned it and repainted it with a rust resistant paint. It began to leak this fall. I am now shopping for a replacement. I am thinking I may need to measure it once I have it out and get a custom made tank, probably plastic, for a replacement. I want to get the fittings in the right placement. on the Cal 29, there is only a small space between the top of the tank and the deck fill. Has any other Cal 29 owner on the list replaced their fuel tank? I would be interested in what type of tank they purchased as well as how they anchored it back in that space. Has anybody considered reusing the existing tank, cleaning it and replacing the fittings? I'm saying this as I'm automatically listing every component and assuming "nows the time", however cost plus shipping to Alaska as well as finding a plastic or aluminum to fit is a bit tedious. That tank is $68 cheaper at Jamestown with the free ship code right now. Just saying... Also, this stuff<http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=51101&familyName=Vetus+Fuel+Fill+Hose> for fill hose is "extremely flexible". I was unable to find what that meant. I was considering an install that would need basically the two 90 degree bends or else some extremely flexible hose. I just mention it because it would be worth finding out just what extremely means.
