2-29 Cabin plywood liner at hatch/cockpit opening
James2012-04-02 15:41
I'm focusing on filling abandoned instrument holes at the cabin bulkhead next to the the cabin door...right side. There's a stock mahogany plywood liner on the inside which I would like to remove and re-cut/replace. Having trouble removing it as the entry door jamb and sill pieces seen to over-lap and hold fast the plywood piece.
Any experience removing this piece without removing the door frame?

Harbor Freight has an inexpensive vibrating multi-tool which I have used for surgical strikes against plywood. I have also used a hand-held router set to a depth not to exceed the depth you want removed and that works also.

Those sound good....I'm wondering if there's a chance or removing that section without selective surgery...however, that could open up a whole other level of repair....simply scarf back in a new section...going to paint as a finish anyway...
Thanks George for the suggestion....router sound doable.
