Wind Map

Hi, I put together a web map site that shows wind reports from the Buoy Data Center and the local Airports. There are similar maps on other sites but I find they don't report all these marine stations and the presentation is harder for me to read. It is hard, for example, to distinguish a wind arrow of zero length from one that is not reported. Perhaps there are other pages that are better than the one I looked at or than mine but I thought I would toss this out there to see if anyone was interested. Here is a sample for SF Bay http://L-36.com/wind_map.php?lat=37.856422880849514&lon=-122.3931884765625<http://l-36.com/wind_map.php?lat=37.856422880849514&lon=-122.3931884765625> You can change the location if you want. There is some data outside the US but it is basically a US site. Allen

http://hint.fm/wind/ It only shows a snapshot in time, but this animated map shows the current dynamics of weather and wind, and lets you zoom in to see just what's happening around you. Pretty cool! For example, right now the Chesapeake appears to be "steering" the southwesterly breeze to almost straight out of the south. Alfred Poor 1973 Tartan 34C #288 "Jambalaya"
