I inspected my existing exhaust hose thinking it was in good shape and could be used with the new engine. When I looked inside, large chunks of the rubber inner layer were hanging semi-detached inside. And I could not see very far inside. What if the separation(s) were farther inside and I did not see them? Needless to say, a completely new exhaust system for the new engine: high rise exhaust elbow elevated raw water vented loop new fire resistant water lift muffler new high rise gooseneck at stern. new stainless steel thrugh hull with flap installed in new hole in stern! new stainless T-hose clamps And, needless to say, new exhaust hose!
