Bruce, have no fear......There is a Manual for the 2-27!
I found one ON-LINE, I think it is on the "Sailing Older Cals Home Page"
http://pages.sssnet.com/go2erie/calhome.htm
If you can't find it there (and I believe you will....) Let me know and
I'll e-mail the WORD Document version that I have (and any diagrams that
should go with it).
What can I say? I save things like this in my "Dreamboats" file!

Hi Bruce,
I have Cal2-27 #650 one of the last ones built. As far as I know there
is no manual, at least I haven't seen one. The mast height is 39'9" plus
antennas etc.
You'll enjoy the boat, she'll take a strong wind in stride but loves
light air.
Good luck,

Hello everybody. I am a new owner of a 1975 Cal 2-27 and fairly new to
sailing in general. I live in Jacksonville, Florida so if there are any
of you who reside in the area, I would be interested in meeting you. I
hope you all don't mind if I ask questions of the group every so often.
Does anybody have the masthead clearance of a Cal 2-27?
Does anybody have an owners manual for the Cal 2-27?
Thanks,
Bruce

I prefer the tried and true method of sailing up to the bridge and just seeing if you can sail under it. I used to do that with my homebuilt plywood catamaran with it's wooden box section mast. But that was before I figured out if you yelled "beep Beeep! reaallly loud, the bridge operator would raise the bridge for you. (sailboat see, sailboat do. Had to do with a make believe horn since I didn't have a real one on board).
