You're right. It's a 36. The 37 has a reverse transom. Some 40s and 37s had a midships engine mount with the prop in the keel that way. The trim tab was outlawed but the boat could be raced with the trim tab fixed in place. That's the first 36 I've seen with the prop in the keel. I believe the 36 had its own mold. The 37 is a cut off 40 and a few were done after the boat had been sailed. The first was Thunderbird, which won the Bermuda Race in 64, I believe. The stern was modified by Derecktor's yard. After that, the mold was plugged and a number, about a dozen, were built by the plant.
