76 Cal 2-27 Transmission
bsauls9252012-07-05 17:10
Hi everyone,
I'm hoping to find out if anyone has any links to a transmission manual for my Cal 2-27. I have the Farryman 1 cyl diesel and not sure what make the tranny is. I was out on the 4th and all was well, up until coming back in to the slip. No reverse! Yipes, good thing I move so slow that the resulting docking maneuver was more embarrassing than damaging. I checked the linkage and it has full travel, fluid was low, so I filled and rechecked still no reverse. I don't really feel a detent when moving selector into reverse but can see that the lever on the side of the box is going to the full position. I removed the shifter cable and moved the arm at the gear box by hand still does not engage in reverse but forward is fine. Any ideas or information about the transmission would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bryan Saulsbury

I have a farymann transmission that worked fine upon removal just this past april.....sitting in my shop, came out of a 2-29. It's heavy and it would have to be shipped from Alaska....99801 zip code.
let me know if this would be any use to you.

James,
Any idea what the weight is on the tranny? I'll see what the shipping costs would be to see if it makes sense.
Thanks,
Bryan

There may be an adjustment on the trani itself that is not related to the cable. I remember having an issue with getting into gear and found an adjustment and since it has worked for years.
