US Navy attacks Indian Race Committe boat?
Remember the headlines about the Navy supply ship that defended itself from the onslaught of a 30' speed boat (possibly on a suicide mission) making a B-line for them at full speed?
As you can see from the video on YouTube, the "Indian fishing boat" looks mysteriously like a race committee boat (to me and probably to fellow sailboat racers". Note the several raised signal flags.
It certainly doesn't look like an Iranian style suicide cigarette type boat with three big outboard motors as described by the press, unless maybe they were a set of three vintage 1960 5.5 HP Evinrude Fisherman Twins running wide open, in that case, I could see then how the crew could have easily been mistaken, panicked, and opened fire to save themselves and their ship.
Also, in the video, looks like the incident is being adjudicated in an after the race protest meeting at a local yacht club.
There is one lady in a red sourong that I'd love to have as my witness in case I'm ever protested. She's truly outstanding, not to be making light of a real tragedy by invoking the executive privilege of sailors to use gallows humor to make a point.
Am I missing something here? You be the judge.
