Great information! I went to Best Buy but they didn't have the Nexus-7 and said they were not carrying it. I don't know where to see one. A fine point but just so you understand what I was saying about Asus. It isn't that Asus makes the phone for Google, it is that Google designed the software for Asus and allowed Asus to brand it as a Nexus. At least that is what my son says. I asked him if I could get the phone from him with an employee discount and that was his reply. What remote GPS do you recommend? If you have done the research I can just order one today :-) I will send you a copy of my latest version of the SW after make it so the waypoints are not just SPYC race marks. Strange....BestBuy and Future Shop, the same company in Canada are the only sources unless you buy on line. No disrespect towards your son but he's incorrect on that one. Its googles flagship product for many reasons. Asus was contracted to build it for them. Give it a year and we will see where Google takes this product. Researching GPS over the weekend. Talk later...its the key functionality in your app. Do send me a copy when your ready. Love testing....its fun..) /ch On Sat, Jul 28, 2012 at 12:18 PM, Allen Edwards <al… [at] gmail.com>wrote: > > > Great information! > > I went to Best Buy but they didn't have the Nexus-7 and said they were not > carrying it. You do understand that my son works for Google? I look forward to finding out what you find. I looked a few months ago. Seemed to be a couple http://www.amazon.com/Dual-Electronics-XGPS150A-Universal-Bluetooth/dp/B006M49G80/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1343493338&sr=8-2&keywords=bluetooth+gps http://www.amazon.com/GlobalSat-BT-368i-Bluetooth-GPS-Receiver/dp/B0018YZ836/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1343494176&sr=8-1&keywords=globalsat+bluetooth This is the cheap one and I think, as I recall, was not as good. http://www.amazon.com/Tomtom-Mkii-Bluetooth-Receiver-Worldwide/dp/B007B2QDFQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1343493338&sr=8-1&keywords=bluetooth+gps The key is the chipset SiRF's Star III or Skytraq 6. Not sure which is the best Don't know what is in the Tomtom.
