Cal 28 Flushdeck replacements ...

Looking for a couple of opening ports for the V berth (5x12) ... and still looking for a good mainsail (luff 27'6" .. foot 10'10" if you have .. or know of available .. please let me know Thanks in advance John

John, what is the condition of the ports? Broken, intact - but not sliding, OK -but leaky? I have a couple old ones from a CAL 25 (same as yours), but I am sure they do not slide any more. There have been discussions here recently about slider spline/track replacement, but it can be a messy. For new ones, contact Mark Plastics (Mark Heacox) 369 E. Harrison St. (Unit G) Corona, CA (951) 735-7705 As far as sails go, I recall you are in mid-CA. If no response from listee or listette, you will just have to go fishing at the used gear stores. I'm sure Minney's has been mentioned. You could also scan Bacon's in Annapolis (with whom I am much more familiar), or Sailor's Exchange in St. Augustine, or Thompson's Hardware in Detroit. These are places I have run into my travels. There are many more. Shipmates, this is the best video on an Olympic event that I've seen in two weeks. I wonder how MSNBC let it sneak past their censors? Everything else I've seen on non-premium (that'd be me) internet reportage is all goofed up, chopped up, advertised up, jerked up and maximally frustrating to try to watch. This video is smooth, clear, hi-def and the narrative makes perfect sense. Gives me new respect for the folks on the committee boat, too!
