Hi, Rob. Are the halyards inside or outside of the mast on the way up? Do you have a block at the masthead (mounted at the front of the masthead plate just in front of the forestay? That would be you spinnaker halyard. The third halyard half way up is for lifting the spinnaker pole. Typically called a pole lift or topping lift. There should be another line that holds the pole down. That cleat on the mast may be for the spinnaker halyard. I don't like that placement, but I've seen it done a lot. Would suggest you get a spinnaker savvy person for the first raising. Very doable, but there are multiple lines involved. When done right it's easy, but if one thing goes wrong, then the whole thing typically goes to hell. I don't know about the little forestay. Best of Luck. But a I have few rigging questions. My last boat was pretty simple, but this one was raced pretty extensively and has "stuff: that I'm not familiar with. 1. There are 3 halyards run to the cockpit for foresails. I get the two at the top of the mast - allows you to hoist 2 different foresails when you want to. But theres a third halyard(?) run to a block about midway up - whats that for? 2. There's a small forestay with an aluminum tube around it (I guess to keep the jib from hanging up during tack or gybe) that runs from 1/3 up the mast to the deck - What's that for? Also, after doing an inventory tonight I appear to have 3 main sails, 2 jibs, 2 genoas, and a spinnaker (and pole). I've never run a spinnaker so that should be interesting... I'm taking tomorrow off to sail her for the first time and do some cleaning, organizing and just general getting acquainted. I'll post some pictures tomorrow. TIA, Rob
