CAL 34 port light glass replacement

Has anyone replaced the glass for the 4 port lights on a CAL 34? The port lights on my boat are Perko. I'd like to leave the frame installed and remove the part of the port that swings open. Has anyone removed the part of the port light that swings open while leaving the frame in place? There appear to be two metal pins holding the opening component of the port light in place. If I tap those pins out, I could remove the part of the port light that holds the glass and work at them more easily. The glass is held in the frame by eight screws and a gasket. The other glass on the boat is 3/16 laminate. So, the port lights probably are also. Thanks! HULL13
