I have a Cal 39, Hunt design, 1988 in Annapolis, Back Creek. I have had the boat since '99. Winged keel, 5.5' draft. I am 6'3" and have no problems with headroom. I do most of my own maintenance and so am pretty familiar with the boat. If you have specific questions: wk… [at] comcast.net

That is exactly the arrangement. A couple of wraps of Velcro. When the sail
is loaded up and I want to get more outhaul, it is a chore, or I have to
luff up and if I were racing that wouldn't be my first choice.
I doubt if I will lead it back to the cockpit as I have the main halyard,
main sheet, boomvang, traveler, and four reefing lines already led down the
port side.l I don't know if I could or want to fit anymore down that side
and the starboard side has no room due to an offset hatch design.
On other boat I have owned. The clew was attached to a car on a track. Think
of a mast track for the spinnaker poles or the genoa track. 20 to 1sounds
good, but 4 to 1 would be adequate. Now I have to sweat the line to get it
out.
Do you know who actually made the rigs?
Cheers,
Sam,
