Americas Cup today

Can someone explain what happened to Russell Coutts today? I know he want around the wrong mark at the end and got a DNF but I watched it on TV and they showed him going around the mark correctly. I mean, they had it labeled "4" and had a 3 boat length circle around it. It that wasn't the committee boat, what the hell was it? Was it a gate and he went outside it? I mean, can someone give an explanation other than he missed the mark? Allen

Allen, Didn't see the races on youtube yet today, but I was glued to it yesterday evening, and watched it till midnight. Awesome! Coutts had such an amazing second fleet race that I can imagine why you might be dismayed. I would be too. I read that the boat they went around was setting up for the next race. I replayed it on TV and the TV crew had it clearly indicated as the mark so it was clearly confusing. Makes me feel better about the mistakes I have made. These guys make lots of mistakes.
