Charlie - Ask Boeing ;-) As a baby shower gift 5 yrs ago we got a carbon monoxide/smoke detector for the house but since we don't have anything that burns fuel in our house I took it to the boat. Well, I was working down in the lazerette and was heating my lunch up in the oven which I had not used yet and apparently was a bit dusty. Unbeknownst to me this alarm did not have a buzzer or typical alarm but had a recorded voice. So here I am on my knees messing with something down there when I hear "FIRE!! GET OUT!! FIRE!! GET OUT!! Don't know the last time I was that acrobatic and nimble LOL. I came flying out of that lazerette like I was on a trampoline only to find that the dust in the oven was causing some smoke . .. WHEW!! Supposed to last 10 years, then you throw the whole thing away. Might have boat applications (mandatory sailing content). I have a question. If the lithium battery in the smoke detector catches fire, will the device detect it? Take Care Charlie
