Re: How to reseal hull to deck joint of my 1968 original Cal Cruisin
Don't forget the soapy water method to find leaks. Close the portholes and
seal the hatches (and any other known openings), then put a house can in the
companionway, and use plastic sheeting to seal it to the opening. Then turn
it on full blast to pressurize the cabin. Now apply soapy water to stanchion
bases, deck hardware, hull/deck joint, and any other areas of interest. You
should be rewarded with tiny bubbles wherever there are leaks that would let
water in.
I haven't done this on Jambalaya yet, because it falls into the category of
"don't ask the question if you don't want the answer." <g> Our project list
is long enough as it is.
