Paragon SAOV Transmission

Well we pulled the transmission on the animal house and ready to rebuild. Anyone have any good suppliers.... I am in Charleston, SC

Paragons are getting rare, few new parts are available. I get a core Perkins 4.108 engine occasionally with a Paragon, but do not bother with trying to find parts. I replace them with a Borg Warner Velvet Drive. I have two RTO tested BW's with 1-1 redux, and two with 1.91 -1.
I also have two old Paragons in my scrap pile, you may have free, pay shipping and packaging from Pensacola, FL.

Are those SAOV? Mine is out of a Cal 34 Mark III with Westerbeke 30. I think one of my problems is a bad planetary gear. Lots of rattle and small metal pieces in tranny. Is the a manual on those anywhere.
I wil call later today

I just pulled my SAOV out of our 79' MKIII. Runs good, nothing broken but
had to tighten up both forward and reverse plates and band to get it to
respond better. The PO's had not done any adjusting and the clutches are
worn so now it is a bit tough to shift into forward.I purchased a Velvet
71C and a new Walters to replace them but due to the extended winter have
not had a chance to get them installed. I'm in MN.

I have hundreds of manuals including several Westerbeke 30 manuals of
various versions all of which seem to have a section on transmissions.
There is one on a Paragon transmission as well. I think I am up to just
under 800 manuals now. Take a look and let me know if I have what you are
looking for. I do not charge for anything on my site.

Not sure what I'm going to do with it....probably deep six it. I would love
to get something for it but I realize there are few takers for a used
antique. There was one on Ebay for quite some time but no takers. Still
snowing here, I'm jealous for your nice weather. Although we need the
moisture as we have been in a drought for a couple of years. Many of the
local lakes are down 6-8 feet. Even Superior, where we sail is down a
couple.

Sorry for my delays - TOO busy for this old man 74.
I sent two Paragons and a box of parts to Charleston with Bill Grant for you. He also has the Paragon we took off his 4.107. He bought a Velvet drive from us. He said he would call you and get together.

Not sure what I'm going to do with it....probably deep six it. I would love to get something for it but I realize there are few takers for a used antique. There was one on Ebay for quite some time but no takers. Still snowing here, I'm jealous for your nice weather. Although we need the moisture as we have been in a drought for a couple of years. Many of the local lakes are down 6-8 feet. Even Superior, where we sail is down a couple.

What are your plans for your old tranny. It is really nice here in Charleston as we have not really had a winter.

I just pulled my SAOV out of our 79' MKIII. Runs good, nothing broken but had to tighten up both forward and reverse plates and band to get it to respond better. The PO's had not done any adjusting and the clutches are worn so now it is a bit tough to shift into forward.I purchased a Velvet 71C and a new Walters to replace them but due to the extended winter have not had a chance to get them installed. I'm in MN.

Are those SAOV? Mine is out of a Cal 34 Mark III with Westerbeke 30. I think one of my problems is a bad planetary gear. Lots of rattle and small metal pieces in tranny. Is the a manual on those anywhere.
I wil call later today

Paragons are getting rare, few new parts are available. I get a core Perkins 4.108 engine occasionally with a Paragon, but do not bother with trying to find parts. I replace them with a Borg Warner Velvet Drive. I have two RTO tested BW's with 1-1 redux, and two with 1.91 -1.
I also have two old Paragons in my scrap pile, you may have free, pay shipping and packaging from Pensacola, FL.
