Not really a good idea at all - if you turn on the ignition switch and start the pump without immediately starting the engine, you run a great risk of filling up the water muffler and then have backflow to the exhaust manifold. Better to purchase a pressure switch and locate it on the oil pressure sensor line - the switch will turn on the pump only when the engine establishes pressure. But that is just my opinion.
