If you scan all the results you may be very surprised by the overall winner!

Very cool. Of course, it's corrected time, which is always subject to
argument, but she also beat most of the modern boats in her class.
My own theory is that absolute speed isn't as important as being a good
boat--one marked by efficient sailing, durability, and lines that please
the eye. But then, I've got a Cal 20, so I've got to think that. Olin
Stephens had the eye for good boats.

Chris, and, yes, 'Dorade' certainly looked good doing the race. She looked awesome with the spray flying and even a spinnaker billowing from her mizzenmast. Somewhere I saw such a photo taken from an aircraft.
There was a Lapworth 50, as well, racing in her class, "Westward" who took third.
For sure, Dorade had a terrific crew. Just shows us how well an old boat can do well prepared and sailed near flawlessly. Needless to say, it is an encouragement to any of us racing our boats, or thinking about racing them for the first time. To me, being in a regatta, is always a thrill, win or lose, you always "win".
