Buccanneer Weekend at Catalina

Hi maties. I'm planning on making it to Catalina (Puma Island) this weekend. I'm hoping to stay over Sat evening at Cat harbor, where I'll anchor, then go to Little Harbor on Sunday. They- the Catalina Island administration-, want $30 admission to this event. Is that something new, do you really have to pay this to participate, or will there be pirates, wenches, and parties a-plenty all over the Island? They're also predicting a Santana condition later in the week. I was afraid of that, but hopefully it won't be too severe, and the bottom side of Puma Island should be mostly protected, except for the vicious down drafts I've experienced in the past. It's supposed to subside by the weekend, but one can never predict the weather that accurately. The Northwest is experiencing the first storm of the Fall/Winter season. Jerry of Shpritz
