All Is Lost - Opens Soon
Husar, Charlie [USA] (ASE)2013-10-17 14:27 UTC
Howdy. As we all know, every boat is rigged differently, especially the running rigging. Less known (except to our list), there were 3 CAL 39s used (and destroyed) in making this film. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to look for differences in the boats during the movie to see if the movie makers were careful in their details.
This is kind of like the movie scenes where travel is shown as an airliner taking off and then landing. The protagonist takes off in one type of plane and lands in a different model.
Cheers
Charlie

If were weren't going to Yosemite this weekend we'd be all over it. Hopefully the next weekend we can scope it out.

Sad to hear they destroyed boats. They are gone forever.

Charlie, that reminds me of me Pappy's advice gleaned during Roosevelt's later campaign for president:
"Don't change airliners mid-flight".
Ah...movie magic!

The Cal 39 was a beautiful boat. Very wasteful that they had to destroy 3 of them. I wonder how they pryed them out of the owners' hands. I guess lots of $$.
