Charlie, building your own FREE support tube could be an alternative. I remember Brian Cleverly's rudder tube project where he wrapped glass cloth around a form to make a tube.

Hi, Alfred. Brian was indeed an amazing guy. “Perfectionist” was on the low end of describing his efforts.
If I were working on an SC 70 or TP 52, I might consider your solution. But on a CAL 25…
