Go-no go formula

NA at Eagle Mountain Lake today. Combined wind, air temp and water temp scored 81 - ten points over our limit. Three boats showed up to race so the course was set for BAR. So, I will gather with George Barlow (who volunteered to man the chase/mark set boat & deserves 3 cheers!) and Berkeley Merrill (who volunteered to help run things aboard, and maybe drive Ranger & deserves 3 cheers) and calculate the formula around 12:45 PM. > > It seems likely that we shall then wait till around 1 PM and check again before becoming involved in hoisting appropriate flags at the Club Yardarm. I see the <Go-No-Go.pdf> at the bottom but that is all there is, just this text, no link and no pdf file attached. I would love to see the file. http://www.fortworthboatclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Go-NoGo.pdf If you follow this link to the FWBC web site, you should be able to download this file. For some reason it did not attach to the recent post that I made. I don't want to start another argument about who gets to decide whether to race. In our club, this formula helps all the "stakeholders" make informed decisions when conditions might not be safe for racing. We haven't had any fatal accidents yet and we race 53 times a year. We did have a man overboard with a one man crew and the crew was not prepared to recover the skipper. Our volunteers and staff are also exposed to risk in providing rescues. So it's not always about the racers. George Barlow

Great, thanks. There is a typo on the chart at a water temperature of 54 degrees. I would assume it should be 11 points and not 1. Do you really race in 38 knots on a nice sunny warm day?
