When I registered my 67 cal-20, the state (fl) assigned a made-up hin on the certificate of title and registration. Maybe he can engrave this number onto his transom, if he has a similar number issued by California? I would offer the number up as an example, but am far away from paperwork. Good luck! Even boats with hull numbers right where they should be were impounded because someone couldn't find the hull number. Apparently, nobody is signing up for the Ensenada race. Seems like a big problem. Over 300 boats impounded.
