it is called Claret. It seems to make a huge difference in the look of the boat. I've attached an original brochure picture. To me, the brochure boat looks less modern. I saw a Victoria 18 painted this color and thought it looked great. They had a light biege deck with it. Nothing like a glossy paint job and a well care for boat to blur the age of a boat. The interface takes a while to load but its worth the wait. Lots of data for the entire coastline, and the best part is its user generated and free. Once you are logged in you can add data as well. They are working a new interface that is going to be very, very nice but that's about 6 months out. No relationship, no affiliation.....just a site I like, track and check first. Have a good trip. Really like Tarpon Springs and the little imitation Greek village. Some good spots off the main drag if you want a real Greek coffee house. Just a simple room with round tables but mmmm good coffee. The old guys are all in black and don't really talk to you as most don't speak English so just enjoy it if your into this kinda thing. Some of course are not and that's just fine as well. Most of the restaurants on the main strip over charge, better value can be had in town, close to the postoffice where the outdoor market is located. But I'm sure you already know all this. A good time of year to be there is when the Greek Bishop comes out to Bless the Fleet. (Sorry forgot when that is but just ask anyone in town) Quite the commotion and festival in town. thanks! Our deck is two tone cream/light beige. See attached. Note the new stainless handrails replacing the teak. I was worried how they would look. I'm satisfied. However, if I was doing it again, I would have them curved to follow the coachroof. If not for the dings I've added she would show fairly well. Reggie, She's stunning. I showed the photo to my beloved and she flipped over it. As you know, she's not a boater at all, but would like to be if she weren't always cold and seasick. :P Poor thing. Anyway, she likes the idea of the raised salon with large lights and maybe a Cal Cruising 36 would work for her. We'll soon submit to the urge to spend time on our CAL Cruising 36 "Submit". It is our expectation to spend a week preparing before heading off to submit ourselves to the perils of warm weather sailing, sun and sandy beaches in the southern Bahamas. As in the past, we will submit an email notification to anyone interested when we submit reports to our blog about our antics, trials and tribulations. Should you wish to be added or removed from that email list, please submit your request to me off list. Reggie CAL Cruising 36 "Submit" CAL 27 T/2 "Knot Ready"

All ok. Working on ship in Marco island saving money to fix Calamity (Cal-20). Need more time off at home to make it happen. It will. Actually think a Cal-36 might be in my future. 2014 Fort Lauderdale to Key West Sailboat Race

Michael D2014-01-14 15:42 UTC
Hello Everyone, The 39th annual Fort Lauderdale to Key West Race starts Wednesday, January 15th. This year, thirty-five boats are registered in five classes. My wife, Brenda, and I are crewing on Sempre Amantes, a Hunter Passage 42 foot sloop. Our start time is at 1320 (1:20 pm) hours. The race is 160 nm and will take us about 24 hours to cross the finish line. This year the weather predictions are for northerly winds 22-27 knots (25-31 mph) and temperatures around 50F overnight. It's likely to be a cold and wild ride. Each boat is to carry a SPOT position transponder. If you are interested in following the race, click here. For more information, go to http://www.keywestrace.org/ Feel free to forward the above links to others that may be interested Wish Us Luck, Michael Duvall s/v Magic, Cal 2-27 Pompano Beach, FL
